I've not done too much art work over the last month as I recently installed Linux Mint and most of my free time has been spent learning all about it, and a great OS it is too.
I was tempted to go back to Vista once or twice - it's been a real good operating system - but in the end Mint won the day and I'll been staying with it from now on - I'll keep Vista on its own partition though.
Mint can be a bit frustrating at first as it requires a lot more user input than vista, or any other Windows system I guess, but the more I get used to it the more I like it. And it's quite, real quite, none of that churning noise coming from the hard drive that seemed to accompany my every visit to the internet. Now all of the background stuff just goes to sleep until it's called upon and wakes up with no complaint.
The big bonus is that Wilber, he of Gimp fame, is much happier in his own neighbourhood. The little old fella works faster and smoother now that he's surrounded by his mates.
I thought I'd leave a few lines here about my switch over - looks like the Mayans were right about the end and new beginning - in case anyone else is thinking about moving over to Linux. It can cause a few headaches but there's a huge community of Mint users out there who are willing to go to great lengths to help out newbies.
